Armless chair, designed by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1955-1960, for the Post Graduate Institute and residential buildings in Chandigarh. A row of vertical slats forms the backrest, above an upholstered seat set within a wood frame. Without crossbars, and with legs tapering slightly towards the bottom, the chair's character lies in this reduction.
