"Court President's" armchair, designed by Pierre Jeanneret and Le Corbusier, circa 1955-1956, for the High Court, Chandigarh. A tall, upholstered backrest gives it a throne-like character. The angled front legs, the arm, and the back leg form a single frame, the construction that gives this chair type its name: bridge chair.
