This Perriand bahut storage piece reflects Charlotte Perriand's philosophy — she favored rational, modular storage over decoration for modern, smaller homes. This Perriand bahut storage type was produced from 1958 by Négroni and Métal Meuble for Galerie Steph Simon, Paris, with wood or metal legs; the Cansado, Mauritania version (metal legs) was designed for a Miferma mining settlement (architect Jean Dimitrijević, 1959–1963), with interiors by Perriand. Made of oak, enameled steel and aluminum, with Masonite sliding doors and rivet-style screws from Jean Prouvé's atelier, in versions of two to five doors.
