Few examples of this chair are known. Four were ordered by the architect Michel Weill for his apartment in Neuilly, one pair by the architect Yves Korbendau for his home in Rabat, and this chair is from Chandigarh, designed by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1955. The chair follows a reductive approach, with a single beam connecting the backrest to the seat. The cane strips are wider than on other Chandigarh chairs, expressing a bolder character.
