One of the earliest chair objects designed by Pierre Jeanneret for Chandigarh, circa 1953. A primitive approach, connecting eleven pieces of bamboo. The crossbars and a soft filling of cotton strips and cord stand in strong interplay. The piece appears as if it simply happened, expressing both nonchalance and conceptual precision.
