MB-301
Chair by Marcel Breuer, "WB 301," designed circa 1933-1934. It belongs to a phase in which Breuer tested a third construction method, after wood and after tubular steel: bent flat steel. His cooperation with the Swiss manufacturer Embru, begun in 1931, pushed him toward this material. The whole frame is cut from a single sheet, including the backrest supports. It is bent into two long runners that carry the chair like skids. The seat curves down over the front rail. The backrest panel sits on top of this cut frame.Dimensions:
