GR-BERLIN CHAIR

"Berlin chair" was designed in 1923 by Gerrit Rietveld, for the "Juryfreie Kunstschau" in Berlin. In 1960, he made two further versions for the boardroom of the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. The chair is built from eight separate planks, joined at right angles, showing grey, black and white surfaces in a spatial construction. This example was produced by Gerard van de Groenekan between 1972 and 1974. It is made of oak wood planks and lacquered in white, black, and grey colors. The armrests of the chair can be moved to the left or right position.
